How co-op works
The full campaign requires exactly two players and can be played in split-screen couch co-op or online. Couch play works offline on one system. The original PC, PlayStation, and Xbox versions launched on March 26, 2021; the Nintendo Switch version followed on November 4, 2022 and also supports local wireless play between two Switch systems.
Crossplay support
There is no cross-platform play between PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Cross-generation play does work within the PlayStation family between PS4 and PS5 and within the Xbox family between Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Nintendo Switch players can only join another Nintendo Switch player.
How many copies are required?
Couch co-op needs one full copy on the shared system and a controller for each player. Online co-op can use two full copies or one full copy plus the free Friend's Pass for the invited partner; the owner must host. Both players need the applicable platform accounts, and console players need the online multiplayer membership required by their platform. Steam online play also requires an EA Account linked to Steam.
